Like everyone else, Sauk Prairie Kiwanis spent the last year slowing down and waiting. We didn't get to do the Kid's Area at Fire on the River. We missed seeing the folks on our Mobile Meals route. We definitely missed our Pancake Breakfast at Bald Eagle Watching Days. We missed the company of our members.
Again, like everyone else, Kiwanis clubs all over the world began working together by using video conferencing tools. After awhile, some clubs figured out that the boundaries set by driving distances where gone--meeting speakers could come from any part of the world, any Kiwanian could visit any Kiwanis Club without leaving home. Who knew?!
Still, everyone slowed down, but that didn't mean stopping! Follow the link below to see what Sauk Prairie Kiwanis been doing.
- continue to support Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital's Mobile Meals program. After taking some time to determine and prepare for the best way to deliver meals during the pandemic, SPMH brought it's volunteers back. Kiwanis delivered meals in January 2021 and will do so again in May and September.
- reapplied to Prairie du Sac's Adopt a Park program and are pleased to be able to continue to support Florence Park on Lincoln Avenue on the west side of 13th. We have two cleanup projects to do, one in the spring and one in the fall. Plus there's always the rain garden to care for. This year, we'll be updating the Little Library in the park as well.
- continue to work with both our Builders Club and our Key Club. Builders Club is a student-led service organization at the Middle School level. Key Club is an international student-led service organization at the high school level. Both of these clubs have joined projects that make items (cards, ornaments, eggs, etc.) given to folks in our community to brighten their day.
We're not sure about you, but we're ready to get back to work!
